Start your storage journey where most people start.
Almost nobody calls us about the whole house. They call about one room that has stopped working, or maybe a garage that won't fit the car, or a closet that doesn't fit everything. These are the rooms and the storage solutions Durango homeowners ask us for most.

Two ways to find what you need: by Room or by Solution.
If you know which space bothers you, start with the room. If you already know what you want built, start with the solution.
Getting started with either leans on the same first step: a free consultation where one of our actual real life designers comes out and measures your space in person.
Everything below was designed, manufactured, and installed by Colorado Closets Plus out of our shop on Turner Drive in Durango. Nothing ships in from a warehouse in another state.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you do more than one room in a single project?
Yes. Whole-house projects are common, and carrying one finish across rooms keeps everything cohesive — one design team, one install schedule, one point of contact.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes. Every project starts with a free in-home consultation — we come to you, measure the space, talk through how you use it, and leave you with a design and an itemized quote. No obligation, and no showroom visit required.
What are your closets and cabinets made of?
High-quality thermally fused melamine — hard, non-porous, easy to clean, and stable in dry Colorado air, where cheaper boards swell or peel. Cabinet boxes are built on plywood. The finish holds up for decades.
How many color and finish options are there?
More than 50 — crisp whites, warm off-whites, wood tones, deep blues and greens, charcoals, and matte blacks. We bring physical samples to your home so you can see them in the room’s actual light.
Do you serve Telluride, Pagosa Springs, and Ouray?
Yes. We travel throughout Southwest Colorado for consultations and installations — Telluride, Pagosa Springs, Ouray, Cortez, Silverton, Bayfield, Farmington, and the surrounding communities.
How long does installation take?
Most single-room projects install in one to two days. Larger or multi-room projects are phased so you’re not living in a construction zone. You’ll get a specific timeline once the design is finalized.
What rooms can you design storage for?
Almost any room — bedrooms, kitchens, pantries, living and family rooms, offices, gyms, craft rooms, laundry rooms, mudrooms, bathrooms, garages, and kids’ spaces. If a room has walls, we’ve probably built storage for one like it.
Where do I start if I want to redo storage in more than one room?
The free consultation. A designer walks the whole house, you talk through what’s working and what isn’t, and we build a plan you can phase over time or tackle all at once — no obligation beyond the rooms you’re ready to start.
Are you a franchise?
No. Colorado Closets Plus is locally owned and has designed, built, and installed in Durango since 2008. The designer who walks your home is part of the same team that manufactures and installs the project.
Will custom storage add value when I sell?
It’s something buyers notice on a walkthrough — a well-built primary closet or a finished garage stands out in a way wire shelving never does. Agents across Southwest Colorado consistently flag thoughtful storage as a differentiator.
Do you work in new construction as well as existing homes?
Both. Most of our work is retrofit in existing homes, but we also coordinate with builders and architects on new builds — the earlier we’re involved, the more storage gets designed into the house itself.
Where is everything manufactured?
At our own facility at 190 Turner Drive in Durango. Nothing ships in from a national distribution center — which means shorter lead times and changes resolved in days, not weeks.
